Meet Gary Prenevost
Entrepreneur, Franchise Consultant, Award-Winning Author of The Unstoppable Franchisee, and Keynote Speaker
President, FranNet of Southern Ontario and Eastern Canada
Member of the Board of Director of the Canadian Franchise Association (CFA)
A passionate entrepreneur, calculated risk-taker, and life-long learner, Gary is considered one of North America’s leading franchise experts. He has been an entrepreneur for over 35 years, with 30 of those in the franchise industry. Prior to entering entrepreneurship, Gary held various positions across multiple industries, working in financial services insurance sales, banking, and as a First Responder (ambulance).
This diverse background gave Gary insights into what work he liked and what he didn’t like. Gary found that he thrived in environments where he had autonomy, control, and responsibility. He was also drawn to the financial and lifestyle freedom of entrepreneurship and loves helping his FranNet clients explore how they can find their own path to this freedom and independence.
Gary’s first foray into the franchise industry was with a human skills training company where, over ten years, he substantially grew the company through awarding nearly 70 of the 110 licenses to new distributors. In 2002, he left that business and started his FranNet franchise. Since then, he has bought single, multi-unit, and master franchises for himself, his most successful being FranNet, which he still owns and operates today.
Having created a successful career in the franchising industry, Gary is dedicated to helping others become franchisees and expand their portfolios to achieve next-level financial and lifestyle goals.
Over the years, Gary and his team at FranNet have coached over 2,000 prospective franchisee clients to fully explore their self-employment options. While at the training company, he has achieved certification in over 15 training methodologies and facilitated hundreds of workshops on a wide range of franchise and business subjects.
In writing The Unstoppable Franchisee, Gary drew upon his training roots to ensure that the concepts and actionable ideas in the book are easily understood, relatable, and, importantly, able to be immediately implemented.
A strong believer in giving back, Gary has been involved in numerous volunteer and fundraising efforts. He is an active member of the Canadian Franchise Association, serving on numerous committees, and currently in his 16th year serving on their Board of Directors.
When not focused on his franchise businesses, you can find Gary enjoying the outdoors, exploring the world, or spending quality time with his family.
