Aligning Skills, Passions, and Goals

The question is, which franchise? As you look at figuring that out, there’s a couple of things that you want to look at. What are the skills that you’ve developed? What are the things you’re really good at and really love to do? If you could say “Gary, if I could do “blank” in my new business, that would be awesome.”

Just as importantly, what is the work you dislike doing or have outgrown? Because if the core functions of the business are something you don’t like doing, guess what? It’s going to slide off your plate, and that’s probably going to lead to mediocrity or even failure.

The third part is, what do you want to achieve through business ownership that you’ve not yet been able to achieve? What are your why’s? And as you build those, what are all the different elements?
